JAWFISH NURSERY

JAWFISH NURSERY
Synopsis

The film is a mesmerizing encounter of the hard work that a small Yellowhead Jawfish goes through, in order to reproduce.

An exemplary "father", the male Jawfish looks after the eggs until they hatch. He gives the eggs the ultimate protection, keeping them in his mouth for safety. Watch the male "churning" the eggs to ensure they are all well oxygenated; watch as the eye of the baby larvae becomes visible inside the egg; until finally, Guy catches the hatching on camera - directly from the male's mouth.

A feast for the eye, with some great close ups, from courtship to the eye of the larvae through the eggs, to the extremely rare footage of the hatching of the eggs, from the mouth of the Yellowhead Jawfish.
